2018 Conference Photo Anthology

We'll make you famous!  Check out these great shots of the people and things that made our 2018 Conference and Trade show one of our best events ever.

Special thanks to all those who helped make our event possible including Point Grey Golf Course, the City of Richmond, Mayfair Lakes Golf Course, everyone involved with the Dave Creamer Memorial Hockey Game, our Silent Auction donors and bid-winners, the KPU Turf Management student volunteers, all our speakers, sponsors and trade show exhibitors and of course all the turf management industry personnel from across the various sectors who made their way to the River Rock Casino Resort.

The value of turf received top billing at this year's conference.

This shot of BC Lions QB and this year's conference keynote speaker, Travis Lulay definitely makes our highlight reel!

Lulay's Grey Cup Championship ring goes round.  Close-up below.

A good crowd is on hand for the keynote.

Some familiar faces.  That's David Phipps, GCSAA field rep on the left, Norley Calder, WCTA Vice President in the middle and Peter Sorokovsky, WCTA President on the right. In the background on the right is Past WCTA President and current Sports Turf Canada President, Tab Buckner.  There are a few other faces we can make out but then it gets kind of tough.

Lulay's talk did not go long but this pass did and was received by T-Jay Creamer (out of the shot, you'll just have to believe us when we tell you he caught it)

The Upper Foyer of the River Rock Show Theatre was the perfect venue for our President's Reception.  Good food and great friends always a winning combination.

The River Rock is truly an impressive venue for many reasons including it's one-of-a-kind dual curved escalators in the main lobby/foyer.  Added bonus, our delegates got to enjoy the Chinese New Year decorations throughout the hotel.  Shot below is the other side of the skywalk looking down on Curve Lounge, a perfect place to pit-stop.

And now for some candid trade show shots...

Pretty sure these guys are talking about mountain biking rather than fertilizer.

The jackets are really working for you guys, looking good!

Nearly 30 speakers in this year's education program.  Here a just a few highlights:

Dr. Micah Woods at the Point Grey pre-conference seminar.

Sports Turf Canada Synthetic Turf Safety and Maintenance course.

Rob Au, BC Ministry of Environment Pesticide Licence Officer

Stan Woods, Senior Engineer Metro Vancouver

Rocking the bus tour, three stops in three hours within the city of Richmond.

WCTA President Peter Sorokovsky with our hilarioius closing keynote speaker, Brenda Robinson.

Dave Creamer Memorial Hockey Games players, coaches and management:).  Does anybody know who won? Yes, the Dave Creamer Scholarship Fund!

Move-out day.  Pretty close fit down the ramp George!

I'll take 16 rolls of bentgrass sod to go please.

Last but certainly not least, a special thank-you to our conference production team.  See you next year!
