2020 Golf and Sportsturf Management Conference & Trade Show Exhibitor Update
October 24, 2019
To all Golf and Sportsturf Management Industry Suppliers and Service Providers,
57th Annual Western Canada Turfgrass Association
Conference and Trade Show
February 11-13, 2020, River Rock Casino Resort
Richmond I British Columbia I Canada
Excitement for our 2020 Conference and Trade Show is growing and we’ve been receiving questions and booth requests over the past couple of weeks. Thanks for the enthusiasm but unfortunately, the trade show registration package isn’t going to be ready until early November, possibly a little sooner.
Event organization is feverish however and there are a few things we’re ready to share.
• The education program is nearly complete (kind of been the holdup) with 20+ speakers on 5 separate tracks plus 4 pre-conference seminars. This year’s theme ‘Grass is not a Foe’, was borrowed from Dr. Michael Brownbridge, Vineland Research and Innovation Centre, in response to lawn and turf critics claiming grass is not environmentally friendly. In fact we know the opposite is true with scientific research showing lawns and turf are equal to trees when it comes to carbon sequestration. It’s certainly a hot topic for sportsfield and golf superintendents, something we will explore in great detail this year.
• The social program is not yet finalized. We had a lot of trouble finding players for last year’s hockey game so there may be a major change, this is still being worked on.
