WorksafeBC September 2020 Public Hearing on Proposed Regulatory Amendments

WorkSafeBC will be holding a public hearing on proposed amendments to the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation. Because of the restrictions on public gatherings put in place by the provincial health officer during the COVID-19 pandemic, we will hold the public hearing virtually.

The virtual public hearing will be streamed live on September 30, 2020, in two sessions. The first will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the second will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Details on how to view or participate in the virtual public will be posted on our webpage for this public hearing, and communicated by enews, by September 1, 2020.

You can access the proposed amendments, along with explanatory notes, using the links below:

Part 6 — Restricted entry intervals for pesticide application

Part 8 — High visibility apparel

Part 8 — Safety headgear (This item is currently out for public consultation and will be added before the public hearing.)

Part 16 — Mobile equipment

Part 18 — Traffic control

Part 21 — Blasting operations

Public hearings provide stakeholders an opportunity to comment on proposed regulatory amendments. We welcome your feedback on these amendments either by written submission or by participation in the virtual public hearing. Written submissions will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. on Friday, October 2, 2020.

Sincerely,
