VIGSA Thanks MS Event Donors

12.11.23-MS.logoOn November 7th and 8th 2012, VIGSA held our 6th Annual Industry 9-hole golf event, Seminar and Silent Auction to raise money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada and Vancouver Island. Thanks to your support this event has grown significantly from its infancy 6 years ago when approximately $8,000 dollars was raised.

As a result of support from individuals such as yourself, an amount exceeding 34,000 dollars was raised during last year’s event. This year, because of unwavering support from our Industry suppliers and record attendance from many in the Golf Course Maintenance community, an astonishing new all-time total was raised; an amount we are very proud of and want you to share in the satisfaction this accomplishment gives us.

The VIGSA MS Fundraising Committee relies on support from a variety of levels to pull this successful event together and we sincerely Thank you for the commitment you make to help us. This year’s total of $ 47,500 exceeds last year’s amount by $ 13,500 dollars and takes us one step closer to our goal of raising $ 150,000 dollars at this year’s VIGSA MS Gala Banquet, Silent Auction and dance at the Westin Bear Mountain Golf Resort.

During this Gala Banquet, with over 300 people in attendance, a representative from VIGSA’s MS fundraising committee will be able to come forward and present a cheque for this amount to Todd Abercrombie of the Vancouver Island Chapter of the MS Society of Canada. Details for this event, scheduled for Saturday, February 2, 2013 are near completion and this year’s Gala banquet is shaping up to be our most exciting to date.

The details of this event, along with information to acquire your banquet tickets will be out soon and we hope you are able to join us for an enjoyable evening of fun, celebration and excitement. On behalf of this year’s Vancouver Island Golf Superintendents MS Committee I would like to pass on our sincere Thanks for your contributions and support as together we will make a difference.

Sincerely,

Dena Gent & Dean Piller
