More Change for the AGSA - Barb Alexander Plans to Retire

12.10.07.AGSA.logoThe Alberta Golf Superintendent's Association has seen many changes in the past couple years with the introduction of a Member/Guest Meeting in the fall, the Property Managers Conference moving to Canmore, and the relocation of the Challenge Cup to Copper Point. There is another change that has been looming and the time is in the near future.

After 20 years of dedicated service to the AGSA, Barb Alexander has decided to plan her retirement!  Barb would like to spend more time golfing at the Glencoe in the summer, and at their home in Palm Springs in the winter. The Board has been aware that this change could come as Barb has kept us informed over the past couple years, so we have been working on a succession plan.

The plan is to begin looking for someone to work with Barb for the next year on a part time basis as a job shadow, working through the meetings, Challenge Cup, Property Managers and many other things Barb manages for us. Following the 2015 Property Managers Conference, the ropes would be turned over to the successful candidate.

The Board has formed a hiring committee comprised of current and past Board members and have begun work on a job description and a job posting. We anticipate having these posted in the near future.

On behalf of the AGSA Board of Directors we thank Barb for everything she has done for our organization, and look forward to working with her one last year, as we transition to her retirement at the end of 2015.
