The Sports Turf Association (STA) is now accepting applications for the 2013 Robert W. Sheard Scholarship. Deadline for submissions is May 1, 2013.

The STA is dedicated to the promotion of better, safer sports turf through innovation, education and professional programs. In order to further this goal and to encourage, support and provide leadership to those considering a career in the sports turf industry the STA established a scholarship program in 1993. The STA Robert W. Sheard Scholarship in the amount of $1000 may be awarded annually and is intended to assist students with the cost of tuition, books and related expenses. The scholarship program is funded through STA membership fees.

We encourage you to apply if you have a desire to pursue a career in the sports turf industry and are currently enrolled in and have completed two semesters of education in a post-secondary program in turf management at a recognized college or university in Canada, or have completed the University of Guelph’s Turf Managers’ Short Course, or equivalent, in the current year.
