It's On! AB Sports Turf Field Day Registration Open

12.04.24-WCTAlogo-grassonly.jpgSports Turf Canada and the Western Canada Turfgrass Association proudly present the inaugural 'Alberta Sports Turf Field Day' taking place August 25, 2016 in Calgary, Alberta at two venues, Ralph Klein Park in the morning and New Brighton Athletic Park in the afternoon.

Hosted by Norley Calder at the City of Calgary, this day of education, networking and supplier interaction is intended to be affordable, insightful and inclusive for all sports turf managers from across western Canada.  Before getting into details, we need to give credit for the original concept where it's due, thanks Mike Schellenberg at the Calgary School Board for all your groundwork toward making this happen!

Native Calgarian John Sorochan, Distinguished Professor of Turfgrass Science at the University of Tennessee, and Prairie Turfgrass Research Centre Lead Research Scientist Katie Dodson are our featured speakers. Sessions will address the five primary cultural practices, incorporating compost into athletic field management, and athletic field safety and performance. Indoor educational sessions will be held at Calgary’s Ralph Klein Park followed by lunch, tailgate tradeshow, and practical applied learning on the field at New Brighton Athletic Park.
