Membership Dues Deadline Change
At the WCTA Board meeting held on April 5th, 2013, Directors voted to change the annual membership dues payment deadline from May 31st to April 30th of each year.
Most WCTA members are probably aware the membership year is the calendar year. Several factors were considered in changing the cut-off to April 30th including:
• a need to publish the annual member directory as early as possible. It will now be distributed in early June as opposed to mid-August.
• to ensure parity for those members who have paid in a timely manner versus those who may receive member services for over 5 months and then elect not to renew
• to have staff time better spent on member services rather than dues collection
As of mid-May, approximately 139 of 781 membership dues remain unpaid. We are on pace as per other years but would like to have these cleared up as soon as possible. If you have not remitted your 2013 dues, please do so at your earliest convenience and if you don’t know if you’ve already paid or need an invoice copy, contact Leslie Carnell at firstname.lastname@example.org
Remember, we can’t continue offering valuable member services if you haven’t paid your dues. These include the employment networking service, Turf Line News subscription and especially important, the BC pesticide certificate CEC point tracking system.
