Yes, it was a little windy in Calgary August 25th for the inaugural, Alberta Sports Turf Field Day, co-produced by the Western Canada Turfgrass Association and Sports Turf Canada, but it was the supplier, sponsor and delegate support that really blew away event organizers.

Usually, you would have received your annual member directory hardcopy by now however the looming Canada Post labour disruption delayed the mailing. With the disruption avoided, we are now in the process of resuming directory distribution and you should receive your copy within 2 weeks.

Communicating the news, issues, events, status and plans of an association is an ongoing challenge. This brief report will provide you a good deal of insight but only scratches the surface. The June/July issue of the Turf Line News does the rest of the job, I hope you get as much out of it as we’ve put in!
Bigger may not always be better but in the case of the WCTA Annual Member Directory, typically published in late May or early June each year, we're about to find out if the old saying applies. The handy 5.5" X 8.5" hardcopy roster, complete with member and supplier listings, will move to full magazine size for 2016 on a trial basis.
