WCTA and ATRF Collaborate with Turf & Rec on Largest Equipment Rental Show in Canada
By WCTA staff
Without a field day in Alberta since prior to COVID, the WCTA brass figured a fall field day for the Calgary area was long overdue. In the early planning stages, a keen host came forward (Eagle Lake Sod) along with a production partner in the Alberta Turfgrass Research Foundation and best friend of turf, Jason Pick.
As sometimes happens, another event was already being planned for September in Calgary so a little step back and regroup was needed. What happened next wasn’t necessarily an exact match in terms of our typical programming but after significant communication and deliberation, the end result is a new and unexpected trajectory slash partnership.
The Alberta Turfgrass Research Foundation and Western Canada Turfgrass Association are pleased to announce our two groups will collaborate with Turf & Rec Magazine on the largest equipment rental show in Canada, ‘Canadian Rental Mart’, taking place at the BMO Centre on the Calgary Stampede Grounds, September 11-12, 2024.
Primarily targeting the equipment rental market, this biennial expo has called Toronto home for nearly thirty years and will be coming west for the very first time. So what’s the connection between the Rental Mart Show and golf/sportfields?
Annex Business Media, owner of Turf & Rec, also publishes Canadian Rental Services Magazine, the show’s producer. It’s expected this event will serve as an excellent venue for building connections, introducing new products to a specialized audience including the professional turf management industry, while playing a pivotal role in the evolution of the equipment sector. Of course, this aligns with WCTA and ATRF’s goals and as stated in Turf & Rec’s e-blast on the subject:
“Offering an unparalleled opportunity for exhibitors from the rental and turf maintenance industries, attendees will be treated to a comprehensive exhibition featuring the latest in cutting-edge technology and services.”
