KPU turf students, Aiden Murphy & Brett MacNeil, competed at the Skills Canada 2025 BC Provincials held at the Abbotsford Tradex on April 16, ultimately taking home a bronze medal out of six competing teams in the hard landscape construction competition.

The Western Canada Turfgrass Association is offering MONETARY AWARDS to students enrolled in an accredited Turfgrass Management Program or equivalent. You could be awarded up to $2500 for an outstanding application!

Over the past couple years, the WCTA has been liaising with Kwantlen Polytechnic University, dialoguing and providing input into re-development of the long-standing Turf Management Program, a popular track at the technical school’s Langley Campus graduating hundreds of turf managers over three decades.

With this past spring’s retirement of Kwantlen Polytechnic University’s long-time turf management instructor Stan Kazyermchyk, it was expected that KPU would hire a replacement in time for the 2024 fall semester.
