Free GCSAA Winter Injury Webinar Nov 9th

Winter conditions of 2017-2018 resulted in widespread winterkill and turf loss, leading to significant declines in playability, aesthetic quality and costly reestablishment. Some GCSAA members are in climates where thicker ice and deeper snow are more routine occurrences.

A free webinar is scheduled for Friday, November 9 at Noon Mountain time. We have secured Bill Kreuser, Ph.D and Kevin Frank, Ph.D to lead the webinar.  Below is the description of the event and the link to sign up. This event is free to members and non-members alike.

In this education event, we invite two instructors to make shorter presentations, then will open the microphones for discussion.

- Bill Kreuser, Ph.D., will cover winter desiccation and go over some of the ways you can prevent such during warm winters when snow pack is low and also wet winters when ice develops.

- Kevin Frank, Ph.D., will review the pros and cons - or some may say risks vs benefits - of using different covers including specifics on permeable vs impermeable and how long to leave in place.

Join us to get information from these subject matter experts and provide advice from your experience to help your peers take action now for the upcoming winter weather.
