Silent Auction Live & In-Person – Almost $20k in Contributions!
With the Western Canada Turfgrass Association’s 59th Annual Conference and Trade Show just a week away, we’ll be getting together en masse for the first time since 2020 and as always, the show will include our popular Silent Auction fundraiser for turf research.
In its 22nd year, the WCTA Silent Auction has generated hundreds of thousands of dollars directed toward turf research projects supporting professional golf and sports field managers in western Canada and beyond. Funding for this institutional research is distributed through our carefully developed priorities, is specific to Canadian turf management needs across various sectors and is not the kind of research done by suppliers.
Combined with 10% of WCTA member dues, 30% of any annual net profit and other fundraisers like the Pat Dooley Memorial Tournament and Kwantlen Turf Club raffle, no other organization in western Canada contributes as much to turf research as the WCTA.
If that sounds like bragging, it’s not, but the WCTA is very proud that our members have remained committed to furthering our industry and their own careers by driving these important and valuable initiatives, even in years when things weren’t the best financially.
Thing is, we could not raise a dime without the tremendous support from turf management suppliers and service providers combined with the relentless volunteer efforts of all those who have sold a raffle ticket, helped organize an event, sat on a committee or simply showed support through participation.
On that note, special thanks to the following 2023 Silent Auction contributors – we go live on Thursday, February 16th from 1:00pm - 6:30pm and again Friday, February 17th from 8:00am - 1:30pm.
