Gone Phishing

By Jerry Rousseau

It’s June 5 and in the last few days, I’ve received multiple reports from WCTA members of phishing scams.  If you don’t know what these are, you might be part of the problem😀!

Phishing is when some form of bad actor sends an email asking for your personal or banking information, possibly offering you a couple million euros in return.  It can also take the form of offering something you may want and can’t find anywhere else – in this case, scammers are offering to sell our member contact list.

There are a couple variations of this email but do not be fooled, this is a phishing scam!

The funny thing is there’s no need for a third party to be involved – if you’re interested in getting your paws on the WCTA contact list, all you need to do is join the association and we will send you a copy of our member directory along with industry supplier and service provider listings.

Here’s a link to our member value proposition outlining this and all our member benefits:

 Any further questions?

All the best throughout the 2024 season!
