Accounting System Change Underway
By WCTA Staff
As part of multiple planned system upgrades over the next 2-3 years, WCTA staff is currently working with the Association's accountant on an accounting system change-over to Quickbooks Online (QBO).
With a global shift to cloud-based systems, the current desktop version will no longer be supported by Intuit, maker of the Quickbooks suite of accounting software. This was only announced earlier this year but fortunately, plans were already in place to transition.
How will this impact WCTA members?
From end-May until the new system is up-and-running by 2nd week of June, we are not able to modify existing invoices or create new ones. Payments can be accepted but we cannot issue a paid invoice copy or receipt until the change-over is completed.
WCTA Executive Director, Jerry Rousseau stated, 'We've targeted the slowest time of year for financial transactions so the impact to WCTA members will be minimal. That said, we're asking you to bear with us until the new system is online." He added, "The most noticeable changes will come in the fall at the time of annual dues invoicing and we anticipate streamlining with new payment features available."
