WCTA Seeking New Media Services Provider - August Update
August 12, 2026
By Jerry Rousseau
This past May, the WCTA issued an RFP in search of a new media partner to replace long-time media services provider to the WCTA, Inside Golf Magazine.
What is a Media Services Partner?
In the case of the WCTA, we're looking for someone to rebuild/manage our website, take care of Turf Line News Magazine and Member Directory production including a new online version of the latter, ensure efficient, compliant, and engaging email communications via a robust email distribution platform, facilitate consistent and strategic social media presence and generate sustainable non-dues revenue through strategic ad sales and sponsorships across all channels.
Certainly, an exciting leap of modernization and improvement to member services and experience, but it's a lot to tackle and by no means is this description the full scope of services or details within each category.
There has been progress and shortly after the submission deadline of June 30th, WCTA Directors short-listed the four submissions received to two, with interviews and follow-up assessment currently underway.
Next Steps
The original goal was to have a new media partner in place by early August however the process has been very involved. In hindsight, it's obvious that date was overly ambitious!
Once interviews with proponents are completed and summarized, the Board of Directors will meet again to discuss the submissions, reviews associated costs, confirm viability, ask questions and schedule any required follow-up.
If all goes well, a final decision is expected by early September with transition to our new Media Partner within 2-3 weeks. Initial tasks will include a full website rebuild, expected to take about two months, and a focus on developing a new advertising strategy and rate structure that incorporates all WCTA media channels.
Concurrently, we will be working on magazines, e-newsletters, social media posts as usual with phased changes released as completed. One of the last items will be development of a secure, online member and industry supplier/service provider directory.
I'm hopeful the transition won't be overly disrupting but we're going to be breaking a few eggs for this omelette and will do our best to ensure member needs are taken care of.
Please let me know if you have any questions and all the best throughout the rest of the 2026 season!
