2025 BC Turf Management Field Day Sets Attendance Record

The WCTA is very pleased to announce this year’s turf management field day, held on September 18th at Bos Sod Farms in Abbotsford, set an attendance record with 190 total event attendees!

While perfect weather is always welcome at outdoor events, the plan all along was to put together a very special and once-in-a-lifetime event at an outstanding venue with incredible hosts, specifically focussed on the 2026 FIFA World Cup sod.  By all measures, mission accomplished!

There is a very long list of thank-you’s starting with the entire Bos Sod Farm family/team for doing everything it takes to host an event like this and then some, all of our speakers who took the time to share their knowledge including Ewen Hodge and David Graham from FIFA, Catherine Eiswerth from Binnie, Gary Bartley from UBC Athletics and the extraordinary Dave Duncan from THP, the tireless culinary collaboration of Kevin Neufeld and Scott Zoppi from ICONIX and volunteer sous-chefs, Brandon Baber and Josh Schaper who provided BBQ like nobody else, KPU student volunteer parking engineers Brett MacNeil, Aidan Murphy and Adam Archibald, our always keen organizing committee of WCTA Directors, the City of Abbotsford for providing some much needed soccer equipment, the District of North Vancouver for a variety of extra efforts way too much to list, the Vancouver Whitecaps for taking an interest and the time to join us, Toro Irrigation and Tiny Mobile Robots for sponsoring the huge money grand prizes, all our exhibitor and demonstration station vendors, and last but not least, the entire WCTA event production team!

Of course, we wouldn’t have much of an event without the tremendous support and participation of all of our professional turf management delegates who attended.  If you keep showing up, we’ll keep putting them on😀.
