2026 Alberta Turf Management Field Day is a Wrap!

Co-produced by the Alberta Turfgrass Research Foundation and Western Canada Turfgrass Association, and hosted by Eric Heuver and his team at Eagle Lake Turf Farm & Landscape Supply, the 2026 Alberta Turf Management Field Day is a wrap!
There hadn't been an event quite like this in Alberta since 2018 - one full day of high-level turf education, live demonstrations, and an outdoor trade show - all at one of the province's premier 1,400-acre turf production sites.
Perfect weather, fun activities, a tasty lunch and a gathering of turf management professionals on the sod was all part of the plan and by every measure, it was mission accomplished! Here's the proof😁:

Under the big top - our morning education sessions were very well received.
Eric Heuver (left) of Eagle Lake Turf Farm provided a farm overview before the education program began. Stu Carmichael, WCTA Past President, offers a small token of our appreciation.
Next up was Gregg Munshaw, Director of Agronomy, Pinnacle Ag Research Center who travelled all the way from Columbia, Missouri to deliver his insightul talk 'Problem Solving for the Turf Manager'.
Final morning session was Gary Bartley from UBC Athletics and WCTA Vice President explaining the experiences/lessons learned at BC Place with the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Demonstration stations are always the most popular and the sod harvester did not disappoint.
And some fun activites thrown in for good measure.
