Further to the Chlorothalonil Re-Evaluation

Chlorothalonil Re-evaluation

We want to take this opportunity to share some important information regarding the active ingredient chlorothalonil.

Health Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) recently posted an amendment to the proposed re-evaluation decision regarding chlorothalonil.

The amendment is significantly different from the previously published proposed decision from 2011 and, if adopted, will significantly restrict and in some instances remove certain chlorothalonil uses.

We stand behind and are confident in the science behind Syngenta products containing chlorothalonil which have an established history of safe and effective use for more than 45 years.

We are currently reviewing the document and will respond to it as part of the 60 day comment period. We are also engaged with various associations and are working with them as part of the review of and response to the publication of this amendment.

We will keep you informed of developments moving forward and until such time as we have further information it is business as usual.
