2022 Student Award Winner Repeats in 2023!

Every year, the WCTA sets aside up to $2500 for deserving students enrolled in an accredited Turfgrass Management program.

Congratulations to Fedja Muzur, KPU Turf Management student and Lead Hand at Northlands Golf Course, who took this year’s top honour once again after having won a $500 award and complimentary one-year WCTA membership last year.

"Thank you Jerry, Stu and the rest of the WCTA board for choosing me as the 2023 Student Award Recipient. A couple years ago when I started school I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect, but this industry has taken me in with open arms. After missing the last few WCTA conferences due to Covid I finally got to go to River Rock, meet with everyone and got to see first hand how amazing the people in this turf industry really are. Having conversations and hearing everyone’s experiences has confirmed that I have found my passion and what I want to do for my career. There are so many people that have already helped me in one way or another but I would like to send a special thank you to the amazing people at the WCTA, Stan and the rest of the KPU professors, and at Northlands GC (Steve, Rob, Gary, Sean, and others) for being such great mentors and making work enjoyable."

- Fedja Muzur (Lead Hand Northlands GC, and KPU Graduating Student)

We would like to take a moment to thank our tireless award committee members, Chair Peter Sorokovsky, Dave Duncan, Kevin Neufeld and Scott Mitchell, for making the time to assist with this year’s selections.
