Kendall Davies Oakcreek Golf and Turf, Recipient of the Toro Green Blazer Award
The Toro “Green Blazer Award” is a very special award available to Toro’s distributor partner’s commercial equipment sales representatives. Toro recognizes top performing sales professionals within the North American market.
Any commercial equipment sales rep is eligible to win the “Green Blazer Award” providing he or she has worked as a sales rep for a minimum of three years in a commercial equipment sales position at a Toro distributorship and the individual has achieved certification through an independent organization called Sales and Marketing Executives International (SMEI).
The certification is a very in depth course of study in understanding and developing the process of relationship selling. To achieve certification, a proctored exam is administered and a score of 75% on the exam is required to pass and to achieve certification. The individual also must continually upgrade his education by completing a minimum of 20 hours of study on an annual basis to maintain his or her certification.
Toro judges individuals who are eligible for the “Green Blazer Award” in a variety of categories including; the individuals knowledge and impact on the market; the individuals competency on Toro product; the understanding and expertise of the sales process and their sales numbers and market share in the categories of golf and grounds product. Finally, the candidate is evaluated on their leadership within the distributorship organization and their commitment to their customers and customer relationships.
We evaluate a number of candidates based on nominations from distributorships Sales Managers and award the prestigious 'Green Blazer Award' at our annual sales awards event held during the GIS. Canadians became eligible for the award about three years ago when the Canadian market was repositioned into the US Domestic Division, now called the North American Division. Kendall became eligible for the Award at the time of the amalgamation with the US market and when he completed his SMEI course of study in March of 2015.
Toro is thrilled that Kendall was a recipient of a Green Blazer for 2015 and the first Canadian to win it in the past 25 years. He is very deserving and is truly a resource to his customers in the Okanagan and West Kootenay markets.
