Tremendous Support for Warriner Family Fundraiser
On Friday, January 24, we passed along news of a GoFundMe campaign created for Mike Warriner, Superintendent at Eagle Ranch Golf Course in Invermere, BC who was recently diagnosed with Stage Four Esophageal Cancer. At age 43, for a husband and father of two young children (ages 5 and 9), this was unexpected and devastating news.
Incredibly, the $50,000 target was surpassed in less than 5 days! Amazing as that is, the immunotherapy the Warriner family is seeking can surmount to $100,000+. Hopefully the donations continue coming in strong - please see the following note for more information.

Dear WCTA members,
As many of you are well aware, our fellow Superintendent Mike Warriner from Eagle Ranch Golf Resort is fighting hard to overcome Esophagus Cancer. Thank you to all of you who have contributed to Mike’s “Go Fund Me” campaign, the support has been overwhelming. Mike departs on February 11th to Scottsdale Arizona to get alternative treatment called Immunotherapy. As you can imagine, this treatment is very expensive and I would like to call out to all for more help. There is a large silent auction being held in Invermere on April 5th , your attendance and/or support would be greatly appreciated. Rounds, lodging, tools, electronics, etc.– it all helps.
Please see the attached letter for more information. Any donations can be sent directly to myself at Fairmont.
Thank you,
Tom Altmann / Golf Course Superintendent / Director of Utilities
