2020 NTA Conference Canceled
August 6, 2020
With much regret, the Board of Directors of the Northwest Turfgrass Association is announcing its 74th annual conference, set for Oct. 11-13 at Campbell’s Resort in Chelan and Gamble Sands Golf Course, will be canceled because of concerns over the coronavirus.
The Board had hoped to be able to conduct the conference as normal, but with restrictions still in place in Chelan County regarding group gatherings, and time running out to adequately prepare and promote the conference, it was decided to not hold any in-person meetings.
Therefore, the NTA is exploring options for virtual education with our guest speakers as well as progress reports on the research studies the NTA currently is supporting. The NTA also is looking at a virtual golf tournament of sorts at Gamble Sands. More information on both those endeavors will be delivered in the coming weeks.
The NTA Board and all parties concerned with the 2020 conference at Campbell’s Resort and Gamble Sands have agreed to try again in 2022, with the conference set for Oct. 2-4 in 2022. The NTA annual conference in 2021 will be at Bandon Dunes, on a Wednesday through Friday, Oct. 27-29.
More information on the NTA and its annual conferences is available by contacting Paul Ramsdell, the executive director of the NTA, at mpsparks90@aol.com or 253-219-8360.
