Constitution Core Being Vetted
In the fall of 2013, the newly formed WCTA governance committee started working toward Constitution updates. Efforts continued this past summer with proposed changes brought forward to the Board of Directors in September.
The firm, MPC Consulting, was hired on November 3rd to examine the document to ensure it fits both legal requirements of the Society Act, and the needs of the association.
“The Constitution is the fabric of any not-for-profit organization and after 40 years, it was in need of some updating,” stated WCTA President Trevor Smith, adding, “It’s critical to have a strong working document to enable the success of the association.”
Proposed changes to the Constitution will be presented to the general WCTA membership at minimum, 14 days prior to the annual general meeting schedule to take place in Victoria, Wednesday, March 11, 2015.
