Executive Decision Regarding WCTA Hub for Online Auction (WHOA!)

A number of online charity auctions have recently launched, after all there are limited options for association fund-raisers right now, but internet bandwidth is getting bogged down with a ton of email marketing to the point of click fatigue or worse for the organizations doing the sending, delete, delete, delete..

Our own effort, called WHOA!, kicked off at 9:00am Pacific time, Friday, January 8th, is open to all bidders and has a couple dozen items already contributed from generous turf industry supplier donors with more on the way.  It’s been a fair amount of work to setup and we’re pretty pleased with this new initiative.

That said, it’s not taking off like we thought.  There are some great items, the online platform is nice and easy to use, payment is secure and anyone can access it 24-seven.  Perhaps there are just too many lemonade stands on the block..

To generate some attention for WHOA!, I’ve made an executive decision that all bid winners will receive a free 2021 WCTA membership to be used by someone who hasn’t been a WCTA member in the past 5 years.  

Now, you can feel good about purchasing items for yourself or your facility at much less than retail, support our WCTA fund-raiser and have a little something to give to someone who would really value a membership.

Since I didn’t go to the Board with this idea, it may be a limited time offer😁.  I’ll take any heat because sometimes you just need to go for it!
