CTRF Extends Administration Contract
By WCTA Staff
In December of 2016, the Canadian Turfgrass Research Foundation (CTRF) selected the Western Canada (WCTA) as their administrative services provider.
The selection process began with circulation of an RFP followed by committee review of submissions and a final decision made by the CTRF Board that spring. Over the summer and into the fall, a comprehensive five year contract was developed, outlining duties, responsibilities and expectations of the service provider.
A quote from then CTRF Chair, Christian Pilon:
“We’re very pleased to have ratified the service agreement for the WCTA to provide administrative services to the CTRF. We look forward to a strong relationship with the WCTA that will benefit turfgrass research as a whole.”
Fast forward to 2022 and for the third time, the CTRF Board has voted to extend the contract for another year. WCTA Executive Director, Jerry Rousseau stated, “The contract extension is a real testament to the work being done by the WCTA. Our involvement is of great interest to WCTA members not only as a revenue source, but the work aligns perfectly with our mandate of research, education, discussion and advocacy.” He added, “By helping drive research project funding on a national scale, everyone in turf management will benefit.”
The current contract is set to expire July 31, 2022 and will be extended through July 31, 2023.
