Sorry If We Missed Your Call
By Jerry Rousseau
Spammers have been working overtime in the past few months and we’ve already sent multiple posts regarding phishing scams, attendance list solicitations and Facebook Fakirs.
Likely, there have been phone scams since Alexander Graham Bell but for the longest time, our biggest problem was emails. That’s changed relatively recently and we’ve been seeing an incredible uptick in spam calls – not the kind where your grandson needs $5000 for bail but the kind where there’s typically silence for a few moments at the other end followed by a highly aggressive sales pitch of some sort that can often seem quite personalized.
To be sure, everyone has experienced this at some point but how it relates to this article is that we have been a lot more reluctant to answer unknown callers lately so if you’ve been trying to get in touch and haven’t been able to reach us, I’d like to apologize for the inconvenience.
We’re still going to have to screen calls but if you don’t get Leslie or me, please be sure to leave a message with your name, facility, date/time you called, best number and time to reach you and a brief reason for your call.
Thanks for your understanding and all the best throughout the 2024 season!
