1. CALL TO ORDER
• President Gary Bartley called the meeting to order at 12:21pm, introduced the Board of Directors and Past Presidents.
• Quorum A quorum of 35+ WCTA members was met.

3. PRESIDENT'S REPORT – Gary Bartley
• Necrology Report - A moment of silence was observed for WCTA Members and Turf Industry colleagues.

4. FINANCIAL REPORT 2022 Fiscal Year End (Sept 30, 2022)

• General operating: $57,062
• Research $70,970
• Term Deposits $10,000

5. RESEARCH REPORT
Given orally by Peter Sorokovsky, Research Chair (full report posted online).
• $231,000 raised over the last 10 years
• 2022 Research summary, three initiatives:
o Partnership with CTRF $4000
o Influence of Plant Growth Regulators on Putting Green Aerification Recovery, OSU
o Enhanced Turfgrass Carbon Sequestration to Improve Sustainability and Market Access
6. COMMITTEE REPORTS
BCGSA – Brett Finlayson
• Introduced Miranda Robinson as their new Operations Manager and thanked Ginny Tromp for her efforts.
• Professional Development Days were held in November. Exchange event to be held in Whistler in August.
• Trying to mend bridges and work together with WCTA moving forward.
GCSAA – David Phipps
• USGA/GCSAA embarked on a complete aerial survey of all their golf courses.
• OSU Field Day being held February 23.
• PACE 7 course series offered for Golf Course Employees.
• First Green slow in BC, growing in USA – now in 33 States. MOU with UK signed.
KPU – Stan Kazymerchyk
• Turf program numbers remain steady
• Pat Dooley Golf Tournament April 28, 2023
7. NEW BUSINESS
• Presentation of Life Member Award
o Jim Plasteras, City of Nanaimo (WCTA president 2005/2006)
