1. CALL TO ORDER
• President Stu Carmichael called the meeting to order at 11:50am, introduced the Board of Directors and Past Presidents.
• Quorum A quorum of 35+ WCTA members was met.

3. PRESIDENT'S REPORT – Stu Carmichael
• Necrology Report - A moment of silence was observed for WCTA Members and Turf Industry Colleagues

4 FINANCIAL REPORT 2024 Fiscal Year End (Sept 30, 2024) – Davin Marr, Finance Director
• 697 members (720 in 2023, 710 in 2022, 682 in 2021, 669 in 2020)
• Balance in bank accounts
o General operating: $81,756.27
o Research: $9,720.13
o Term Deposits: $110,917.86
• Adopt September 30, 2024 year-end Statement of Revenues and Expenditures

M/S/C K. Hewlett / J. Pick to Appoint Paul F.S. Gallo Inc., Chartered Professional Accountant, to review WCTA financial statements for fiscal year ending September 30, 2025.
5. RESEARCH REPORT - Peter Sorokovsky, Chair
• $300,000 invested in turf research over the past 15 years
• Thanks to everyone for supporting
6. COMMITTEE REPORTS
• BCGSA – Peter Rodrigues
o Successful Professional Development Days
• GCSAA – David Phipps
o First Green – 6789 students; 109 field trips across USA & 1 in the UK. The career development program began.
o NTA - 2025 Conference October 20-22 @ Gamble Sands Resort, WA. Have approached OSU regarding a study on the effect of wildfire smoke on golf courses and putting greens.
o OSU – Alec Kowalski taken a new position in Turf and Landscape. Chas Schmidt likely successor. New trial putting green cultivation trial. Nemotode survey completed in USA, now coming to Canada. Irrigation maintenance trial also underway.
