Final Message from President Stu Carmichael

Hello WCTA Members,

It’s hard to believe my time as President of the WCTA is coming to an end. The past two years have been an absolute privilege, and I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve this incredible community.

Working alongside such a dedicated Board and our steadfast Executive Director, Jerry Rousseau, has been an experience I’ll always treasure. Jerry, your hard work and leadership have been instrumental in keeping us on track—thank you for everything.

As I look back, I’m struck by how much we’ve accomplished together. From growing our membership to tackling advocacy challenges and hosting memorable events like our 60th Anniversary Conference in Victoria, this community has shown time and again what can be achieved through collaboration and passion.

A special thanks to the WCTA Board—your commitment, vision, and teamwork have been the backbone of our success. To our members, sponsors, and volunteers, your support and involvement have been the heart of everything we do. It’s been inspiring to witness the energy and expertise you bring to every aspect of our association.

Looking ahead, I’m confident the WCTA is in great hands and poised for continued growth and success. The 61st Annual Conference and Trade Show at the River Rock Casino Resort, February 11-13 2025 is already shaping up to be another standout event. Be sure to mark your calendars and stay tuned for updates—it’s going to be one you won’t want to miss!

In closing, I want to express my deepest gratitude for the trust and support you’ve shown me over these past two years. Serving as your President has been an honor and a privilege, and while I’ll be stepping back from this role, I look forward to continuing to be part of this vibrant and dedicated community.

Here’s to a successful year ahead, full of new opportunities and continued excellence. Wishing you all a peaceful winter season.  Here’s to greener fairways, healthier lawns, and turf that thrives in every corner of Western Canada. May your mower blades stay sharp and your irrigation systems flow like a dream!

With gratitude,

Stu Carmichael
