Senior Turf Specialist, Marie Thorne has announced her retirement from Syngenta Canada Inc. after an outstanding 37-year career serving the turf industry in Canada. Marie will remain in her current role until April 2018.

In an effort to reach out to industry, the BC Ministry of Agriculture recently informed multiple grower groups that neonicotinoid pesticide contamination was discovered within the Nicomekl watershed in the Langley area of BC’s lower mainland.
As of July 1, 2016, all British Columbia golf courses are required to obtain a Pesticide User's Licence in order to legally apply pesticides. To assist golf courses with the compliance process, Conrad Berube, MOE Officer for Vancouver Island, has provided the following instructions and weblinks.
