With a big assist from the Western Canada Turfgrass Association, the Board of Directors of the Northwest Turfgrass Association is directing $80,000 toward turfgrass research studies being conducted at Oregon State University and Washington State University in 2026 and is expected to award at least $10,000 in scholarships this year as well.

With $30,485 worth of items up for grabs, generously provided by turf management industry suppliers and service providers, our 25th Annual Silent Auction held during the 62nd Annual WCTA Conference and Trade Show held at the River Rock Casino Resort February 10-12, 2026, raised $14,529 for turf research!

The “Manual of Integrated Pest Management for Turf Managers in BC”, published in 2019, is being reviewed to add new materials. As part of the effort, a number of golf courses were visited in late summer [of 2025] to document brown patch, yellow patch and other summer patch and ring diseases present in British Columbia.
The turgrass research funding year begins with our annual conference and trade show through fundraising efforts made possible by donations to our Silent Auction and of course the lucky bid winners who purchase these goods and services!
