As we continue dealing with COVID impacts, strong leadership within the Turf Management industry has never been more important.  Many adjustments have been made over the past 18 months and more change is expected.  The WCTA needs leaders who can manage that change, ensuring the association remains strong and successful moving forward.

Nathan Wade Named as WCTA Director

Message from the WCTA Board

It’s been an unusual year for the WCTA Board with Cam Watt’s departure from the industry.  Gary Bartley, from UBC Athletics, moved into the Presidency role ahead of schedule leaving the VP position empty but fortunately, Stu Carmichael from the City of Courtenay, stepped up and has filled that role.

Cameron Watt Pursuing Career Outside of Turf Industry, Resigns as WCTA President

One of the first steps for me after every 2nd AGM, is to email the new President a note of congratulations and orientation.  We then setup a call to start things moving, like drafting the coming year’s meeting schedule, doing a conference debrief, discussing finer points of the Presidency role and going through a wide-ranging association status and activities update.
