With so much uncertainty in the world right now, it’s interesting to look back to just a few months ago and realize how much we have overcome already. We were all likely wondering what effect a pandemic would have on our communities, our economy, and even our own turf industry.

On March 18, we sent you the following note, “During the Covid-19 concern, the WCTA will be sending essential communications only. Hopefully this concern is short lived, but as an association, we want to remain proactive and will continue working on member initiatives and support wherever possible during this difficult time.”
The new year is always a great time to reflect on the past. Looking back, 2019 was a great year for the Western Canada Turfgrass Association. We accomplished many goals and reached some key milestones that we had set out as an association. We also dealt with an unexpected curve ball with the WorkSafe BC Roll Over Protection amendments.

Networking is such a big part of developing our careers; however, it’s something that often gets overlooked or just brushed off as socializing. In my last message, I spoke about how great the people in our industry are.
