The Continuing Education Credit (CEU) tracking program is designed to promote ongoing education toward pesticide certificate renewal and is encouraged by the Ministry of Environment who would rather see applicators engaged in ongoing education to stay current than writing a test every 5 years.

Earlier this year, the Western Canada Turfgrass Association positioned itself to help lead advocacy efforts directed at two very important golf course turf management fungicides, chloroathonil and iprodione, both up for re-evaluation by Health Canada PMRA.

We want to take this opportunity to share some important information regarding the active ingredient chlorothalonil.

In February of this year, the Pesticide Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) presented an amendment to a re-evaluation decision with regards to the fungicide, chlorothalonil. This amendment would restrict the turfgrass use of this fungicide to a single fall application for the prevention of snow mould. You can download a copy of the WCTA submission below.
