WCTA 2016 Turfgrass Research Update

One of the primary mandates of the Western Canada Turfgrass Association, along with many of our allied groups, is to foster turfgrass research for the betterment of the entire sports turf and golf course management industry.

2016 Turfgrass Research Contributors

The turgrass research funding year begins with our annual conference and trade show.  At that time, we receive contributions from allied organizations like the BC Golf Superintendents Association and Kwantlen University Turf Club along with revenues generated from our Silent Auction and other fundraisers.

Every WCTA member contributes too!  Unique to our association, 10% of member dues go directly toward research project funding right off the top.

WCTA Announces 2016 Turf Research Project Funding

Based on funds raised in 2015, cash available to the Research Committee for 2016 projects is $13,598. As recommended by the Research Committee, the WCTA Board is pleased to announce $17,000 in approved 2016 Turf Research project funding as follows (difference will be made up from reserves):

WCTA 17th Annual Turf Research Silent Auction Results

The WCTA is pleased to announce our 2016 Silent Auction raised $5,211, surpassing last year's total of $4,797, to help fund turf management industry research projects.  Thanks must go out to all donors who generously supplied auction items, without whom this fundraising effort would not be possible.  And of course, congratulations to all the bid winners!
